About John Knox Presbyterian Church
Our Statement of Faith
We are a faithful community of God’s children who proclaim Jesus Christ as the true light of the world.
By the power of the Holy Spirit, we celebrate our life together and joyfully serve as we reflect God’s love; encourage spiritual growth; act on our shared gifts for ministry through worship, education, and mission; commit ourselves as Christ’s disciples; and help foster God’s justice, hope, and peace.
Our Vision
In a complex world, the simple answer is God.
Empowered by the Holy Spirit, we seek to show the love and peace of Jesus Christ and to spread God's Word.
Our Background
Our congregation is a community of faith seeking to share our hope in Jesus Christ with our community and world. We began meeting together on September 17, 1961, as a mission of the Presbytery of Indianapolis. On March 4, 1962, we were organized by the Presbytery as a congregation of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.). Although our immediate neighborhood is the Speedway area, we serve the greater West Side of Indianapolis and its surrounding counties. We are a congregation of the Whitewater Valley Presbytery, the Synod of Lincoln Trails, and the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.).
Our Mission
Know Jesus Christ and bring others to Him by:

- Proclaiming God's Word to our community and world
- Growing in faith as we study and share God's Word
- Living our faith
- Communicating openly and lovingly
