“Lives of Servants”

Music:  “Holy Is the Lord”

We stand and lift up our hands,

For the joy of the Lord is our strength.

We bow down and worship Him now,

How great, how awesome is He.

And together we sing, everyone sing.

Holy is the Lord God Almighty,

The earth is filled with His glory.

Holy is the Lord God Almighty,

The earth is filled with His glory.

The earth is filled with His glory.

We stand and lift up our hands,

For the joy of the Lord is our strength.

We bow down and worship Him now,

How great, how awesome is He.

And together we sing, everyone sing.

Holy is the Lord God Almighty,

The earth is filled with His glory.

Holy is the Lord God Almighty,

The earth is filled with His glory.

The earth is filled with His glory.

It’s rising up all around,

It’s the anthem of the Lord’s renown.

It’s rising up all around,

It’s the anthem of the Lord’s renown.

And together we sing, everyone sing.

Holy is the Lord God Almighty,

The earth is filled with His glory.

Holy is the Lord God Almighty,

The earth is filled with His glory.

The earth is filled with His glory.

The earth is filled with His glory.

Welcome/Announcement/Passing of Peace – Frank Mansell

The peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you!  Peace be with you!

Song Celebration:  “We Are”

Every secret, every shame.

Every  fear, every pain.

Live inside the dark,

but that’s not who we are.

We are children of the day

So wake up sleeper, lift your head,

We were meant for more than this.

Fight the shadows, conquer death.

Make the most of the time we have left.

We are the light of the world.

We are the city on a hill.

We are the light of the world.

And we gotta, we gotta,

we gotta let the light shine.

We are the light of the world.

We are the city on a hill.

We are the light of the world.

And we gotta, we gotta,

we gotta let the light shine.

We are called to spread the news,

To tell the world the simple truth.

Jesus came to save,

There’s freedom in His name,

So let His love break through.

We are the light, we are the light,

We are the light,

So let your light shine brighter

We are the light, we are the light,

We are the light, Jesus.

You are the light, You are the light

You are the light,

We will lift You high,

And shine, shine, shine.

Song Celebration:  “Power of Your Name”

Surely children weren’t made for the streets,

And fathers were not made to leave.

Surely this isn’t how it should be.

Let Your Kingdom come.

Surely nations were not made for war,

Or the broken meant to be ignored.

Surely this just can’t be what You saw.

Let Your Kingdom come here in my heart.

And I will live to carry Your compassion,

To love a world that’s broken,

To be Your hands and feet.

And I will give with the life that I’ve been given.

And go beyond religion

To see the world be changed

by the power of Your name,

The power of Your name.

Surely life wasn’t made to regret,

And the lost were not made to forget.

Surely faith without action is dead.

Let Your Kingdom come.

Lord, break this heart.

And I will live to carry Your compassion,

To love a world that’s broken,

To be Your hands and feet.

And I will give with the life that I’ve been given.

And go beyond religion

to see the world be changed

by the power of Your name.

Jesus, Your name is a shelter for the hurting,

And Your name is a refuge for the weak.

Only Your name can redeem the undeserving.

Jesus, Your name holds everything I need.

And I will live to carry Your compassion,

To love a world that’s broken,

To be Your hands and feet.

And I will give with the life that I’ve been given.

And go beyond religion

To see this world be changed.

And I will live to carry Your compassion,

To love a world that’s broken,

To be Your hands and feet.

And I will give with the life that I’ve been given,

And go beyond religion

to see the world be changed

by the power of Your name.

The power of Your name.

The power of Your name.

Sharing of Joys and Concerns and Lord’s Prayer – Jillian Flynn

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.  Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.  For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever.   Amen.

Song: “The Servant Way”

He shed His glory, He left His throne

to be born the baby of a virgin.

He walked among us clothed in flesh and bone

taking on the nature of a servant.

For love He suffered willingly,

He bore the manger and the tree.

This King resplendent in HIs poverty

come to show the servant way of Jesus.

And we must have the mind of Christ our Lord,

loving others just as He has loved us,

with humble spirits seeking no reward

but to please the Lord who reigns above us.

We owed a debt only He could pay.

He died to show the servant's way,

and we must die a little every day,

as we live the servant way of Jesus.

And we must die a little every day,

as we live the servant way of Jesus.

Scripture: Matthew 25: 14-30 – Amy Winton

‘For it is as if a man, going on a journey, summoned his slaves and entrusted his property to them; to one he gave five talents, to another two, to another one, to each according to his ability. Then he went away. The one who had received the five talents went off at once and traded with them, and made five more talents. In the same way, the one who had the two talents made two more talents. But the one who had received the one talent went off and dug a hole in the ground and hid his master’s money. After a long time the master of those slaves came and settled accounts with them. Then the one who had received the five talents came forward, bringing five more talents, saying, “Master, you handed over to me five talents; see, I have made five more talents.” His master said to him, “Well done, good and trustworthy slave; you have been trustworthy in a few things, I will put you in charge of many things; enter into the joy of your master.” And the one with the two talents also came forward, saying, “Master, you handed over to me two talents; see, I have made two more talents.” His master said to him, “Well done, good and trustworthy slave; you have been trustworthy in a few things, I will put you in charge of many things; enter into the joy of your master.” Then the one who had received the one talent also came forward, saying, “Master, I knew that you were a harsh man, reaping where you did not sow, and gathering where you did not scatter seed; so I was afraid, and I went and hid your talent in the ground. Here you have what is yours.” But his master replied, “You wicked and lazy slave! You knew, did you, that I reap where I did not sow, and gather where I did not scatter? Then you ought to have invested my money with the bankers, and on my return I would have received what was my own with interest. So take the talent from him, and give it to the one with the ten talents. For to all those who have, more will be given, and they will have an abundance; but from those who have nothing, even what they have will be taken away. As for this worthless slave, throw him into the outer darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”

Song:  “Build Your Kingdom Here”

Come set Your rule and reign
In our hearts again
Increase in us we pray
Unveil why we're made

Come set our hearts ablaze with hope
Like wildfire in our very souls
Holy Spirit come invade us now
We are Your church
We need Your pow'r in us

We seek Your kingdom first
We hunger and we thirst
Refuse to waste our lives
For You're our joy and prize

To see the captives' hearts released
The hurt the sick the poor at peace
We lay down our lives for heaven's cause
We are Your church
We pray revive this earth

Build Your kingdom here

Let the darkness fear
Show Your mighty hand

Heal our streets and land

Set Your church on fire
Win this nation back
Change the atmosphere
Build Your kingdom here we pray

Unleash Your kingdom's pow'r
Reaching the near and far
No force of hell can stop
Your beauty changing hearts

You made us for much more than this
Awake the kingdom seed in us
Fill us with the strength and love of Christ
We are Your church
We are the hope on earth

Build Your kingdom here

Let the darkness fear
Show Your mighty hand

Heal our streets and land

Set Your church on fire
Win this nation back
Change the atmosphere
Build Your kingdom here we pray
