Studying the Belhar Confession
Posted on Mar 17, 2017
The Belhar Confession was passed by the General Assembly in 2016, and added to the Presbyterian Book of Order. This confession addresses unity in the church, racial reconciliation, and the "one voice" of our church. The Belhar Confession was written by the Dutch Reformed Mission Church as a theological challenge to South African apartheid. During the month of March, the Forum class will explore Belhar and its historical context, along with the legacy of racism in the United States, including studying Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s "Letter From a Birmingham Jail". We hope you can join us for what promises to be a series of interesting and informative discussions!
