Camp Pyoca Sunday at John Knox

You are invited to join us for worship - either in-person or online - at 9:00am or 11:00am this Sunday, April 18, 2021. We have enjoyed a long, fruitful partnership with Pyoca, and we are grateful for Molly sharing the message and letting us know what Pyoca is planning for this summer!

Jillian Flynn Ordination Service -

Sunday, April 18, 4:00pm

The Presbytery of Whitewater Valley will be ordaining Jillian Flynn to be a minister of the Word and Sacrament at an ordination service on Sunday, April 18, at 4:00pm, at John Knox Presbyterian Church. This service will be led by a commission of the presbytery, chaired by the Moderator of Presbytery, Ruling Elder Mike Whitfield of First Presbyterian Church, Shelbyville. The service will be held in-person and online, streamed on our Facebook Page and church website. This service represents the culmination of Jillian’s call to serve in ministry as a hospital chaplain at this time, and we are so excited to be able to host this special service at John Knox!

We Need Your Help Mulching! - April 17

Tomorrow at 9am, the landscape team will be mulching areas around the church, weather permitting. If it rains, the alternate day will be April 24. If anyone is available and willing to assist on that day, it would be much appreciated. Bring gloves, shovels, garden rakes and wheelbarrow, if available. Thanks for all your help!

Hostas and Easter Flowers Available 

The landscape team still have hostas and Easter flowers left at the church. They are in pots located in the outside parlor garden area. Hostas will be of various varieties. If anyone would like one, please feel free to come and pick one up. The landscape team simply requests that you make a donation to the landscape fund. Checks can be made out to John Knox and marked "landscape fund."

Connecting Time with Frank - April 20 - 7:00pm

The next Connecting Time session will be on Tuesday, April 20, at 7:00pm, on Zoom. Click here for the link to the meeting on Zoom. You are invited to join me for this opportunity to ask any questions you might have about our upcoming move, to reflect on our shared ministry over the last 18 years, and to consider what lies ahead in our future in God's hands. Bring a Bible with you, as we will use Scripture to guide our discussion. Future sessions will take place on April 27, and May 3. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

Butler Senior Recital - April 17 - 4:00pm

We have the joy of hosting the Senior Recital for Anna Grace Smith from Butler University tomorrow at 4:00pm. Anna is a Violin major in the Class of 2021, and her recital will be live-streamed by us over Facebook. Click here for the information and link on our website to watch! Margaret Wilson Scholarship Applications

The Margaret Wilson Scholarship applications will be mailed out on April 5 to all prospective students. The applications for the scholarships will be available on the church’s website at www.johnknox.org and in the office for pick-up. Please be aware that the deadline for the scholarship applications to be submitted is May 9. They MUST be postmarked by May 6 or emailed to Lisa Crismore by May 9. Summer Camp at Pyoca

Summer will be here before you know it – what better way to spend a week of summer than at camp! Pyoca Camp and Retreat Center has a wonderful offering of programs this summer for children and youth, everywhere from 3-days to a full week. You can learn more about what is offered this summer, and register online, at Pyoca’s website www.pyoca.org. Pyoca is offering camps this summer with reduced capacity and safety protocols in place. If you wish to participate, please register now – spaces are filling-up fast!

Vaccine Reminder

Now that vaccinations for Covid-19 are being available for people over 16 years of age, you can go to vaccine.coronavirus.in.gov to register for an appointment if you are eligible.
