Just a reminder that if you are not feeling well, even if you think it is something as simple as a cold, PLEASE STAY HOME and worship via Facebook. As usual, masks and hand sanitizer are available in several locations at the church. Let's keep everyone safe and healthy.

Devotions for Lent

Lent begins on February 26. We are so pleased to be utilizing the devotional, “Bless the Lent we Actually Have Days to Reflect, Pray, and Bless Our Imperfect Lives.”  Written and edited by Kate Bowlen, Jessica Richie, Brenda Thompson, and Harriet Putman. Kate and Jessica were co-authors of last year’s Lenten Study Book “Good Enough”.  Each week we will be focusing on a concept from the devotional, and we invite you to use it as a daily devotional, with the exception of Sundays (this is traditionally how the “40 days of Lent” are calculated. Devotionals are available for pick up on the table outside the sanctuary.

Ash Wednesday - February 22 Supper and Worship

On Wednesday, February 22, we will gather in the Fellowship Hall at 6 pm for our traditional pancake supper. We thank Nancy Orme and Sandy Jordan and their assistants for preparing our meal! Following supper, we will have worship with scripture, prayer, and the imposition of ashes, marking the beginning of our remembrance of the Season of Lent. Please join us for this special evening of worship and fellowship.

Rev. Parker Palmer shares deep wisdom in Let Your Life Speak, and this book is a great companion to our Lenten listening journey together. Let Your Life Speak: Listening to the Voice of Vocation is available on Amazon in hardcopy or Kindle versions (there are also several used book options). We will meet on Wednesdays during Lent (starting on March 1) at 7 pm at the church and on ZOOM.

A Service of Witness to the Resurrection - Norma Kraft - March 2

A service of witness to the resurrection will be held for Norma Kraft at John Knox on March 2, 2023. Visitation will be at 1:30 pm with the service beginning at 2 pm.

Madelin Foster is joining the JKPC family starting March 2! Her first Sunday is March 5th.  We are excited!

Pancake Breakfast for Storehouse Families

On Saturday morning March 11, we will host a pancake breakfast in the fellowship hall for families served by the Storehouse. Volunteers are needed to set up Friday the 10th and then on Saturday we have opportunities to help in the kitchen, to greet and serve our guests and to help clean up after breakfast. A signup sheet with times and job descriptions will be available on the Storehouse table in the hallway. Training will be provided. See Pastor Beth or any member of the Transition Team for questions.
