Our last class is on February 28th beginning at 7 p.m. in-person and on ZOOM.

Ash Wednesday Worship Service
We will hold worship in the sanctuary at 7 pm. The service will include scripture, prayer, and the imposition of ashes, marking the beginning of our remembrance of the Season of Lent.
The service will also be live-streamed online. Due to Covid, we will not be able to hold our normal pancake supper again this year.
Join us for worship this special evening either in person or online.
Lenten Devotionals Available
Lent begins on March 2. Our Lenten theme this year is Good Enough. We are so pleased to be utilizing the devotional book, Good Enough: 40’ish Devotionals for a Life of Imperfection, as the basis for our worship this Lent. Each week we will be focusing on a concept from the book, and we invite you to use it as a daily devotional, with the exception of Sundays (this is traditionally how the “40 days of Lent” are calculated… and at some point, you’ll find the “40’ish-ness” where there is one more, which makes it perfectly imperfect). Books are available for purchase after worship for the cost of $15.00.
Daylight Savings Time
Daylight Savings Time begins on Sunday, March 13. So, when you go to bed on March 12, be sure to set your clock AHEAD one hour. That way you won’t be arriving for church while the rest of us are leaving!
Flowers in 2022
One of the ways that you can contribute to our worship experience each Sunday is by placing flowers in worship. There is a calendar outside the church office where you can sign-up. Please feel free to contact Amy Willis if you have any questions (317-291-0308). Thank you!
2022 Per Capita
Did you know that we as a church pay to the larger church (presbytery, synod, and general assembly) a per capita mission payment that is based on our membership each year? This is part of our annual budget each year and is a commitment we fulfill as a connectional church. For 2022, that amount per member is $42.29, or approximately $7,700 for the year. Would you consider making a contribution above and beyond your normal giving to help offset this? Mark your check “per capita”, and thank you for your generosity! If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Cindy Hiday (317-388-1280: ).
Masking Update
At the January Session meeting, the Session decided to watch the Indiana COVID-19 Dashboard and Map and if the county is in RED we will wear masks at church. When the county is ORANGE for two consecutive weeks we will return to masking optional for vaccinated and strongly encouraged for the unvaccinated.
Marion County is currently in ORANGE status. If we stay in ORANGE status we will move to masks optional in the building on March 6. Mask will still be required for congregational singing.
If masking is not “your thing,” then join us on Facebook Live for worship service. If you have any concerns regarding these actions, contact Pastor Beth directly or contact one of our ruling elders. -Pastor Beth
Church School Update
Patty McKinnon will resume her Adult Church School Class on March 6.
The Education Team has made the decision to cancel the children and youth church school classes. The plan is to have prepared “Church School Take Home” boxes ready to distribute the week prior to Ash Wednesday. March 2. The lessons will go through Lent and Easter for eight weeks. Parents will be asked to give feedback to see if these are helpful. If you are a parent, please contact us if your family would like to receive one of these boxes.
Crew Car Wash Tickets
As a fundraiser for the 20/20 fund, we will be selling Crew Car Wash tickets in the hallway between services each Sunday in February. As in past years, each ticket costs $10, and half of that is given back to John Knox as profit. Tickets never expire and can be used at any Crew Car Wash in Central Indiana. With a new location just south of the Church on High School Road, this will be extra convenient for keeping your car clean and looking good. If you are not attending church in person right now and would like tickets, contact Barb Williams and we will arrange to get tickets to you. Thank you.
Remember to wear your masks while in the church building and stay home if you're sick in any way. We can all do our part to keep people healthy if we remain diligent and care for one another! If you are eligible to be vaccinated/boosted and have not already done so, please consider making an appointment today!
Blessings,
Pastor Beth
