Friday Newsletter March 11
March 15, 2022 | Rev. Beth Wagner
So much is out of our control...
Even Jesus got dang frustrated when folks didn’t behave as he would have liked. We probably aren’t receiving death threats from Herod as Jesus was, but our wellbeing could be threatened by the idea that if we just try hard enough, are nice enough, say just the right thing, life will always go our way. How do we handle life when so much is out of control?
This Sunday at John Knox
You're invited to join us this Sunday, March 13, 2022, at 9:00 am for our Traditional Service or at 11:00 am for our Contemporary Service. Please note: You do not have to have a Facebook account to view our services. Our scriptures this Sunday are: Isaiah 55:1-9 and Luke 13:31-35

Daylight Savings Time begins on Sunday, March 13. So, when you go to bed on March 12, be sure to set your clock AHEAD one hour. That way you won’t be arriving for church while the rest of us are leaving!

Lenten Devotionals Available
Lent began on March 2. Our Lenten theme this year is Good Enough. We are so pleased to be utilizing the devotional book, Good Enough: 40’ish Devotionals for a Life of Imperfection, as the basis for our worship this Lent. Each week we will be focusing on a concept from the book, and we invite you to use it as a daily devotional, with the exception of Sundays (this is traditionally how the “40 days of Lent” are calculated… and at some point, you’ll find the “40’ish-ness” where there is one more, which makes it perfectly imperfect). Books are available for purchase at Amazon.com
Flowers in 2022
One of the ways that you can contribute to our worship experience each Sunday is by placing flowers in worship. There is a calendar outside the church office where you can sign-up. Please feel free to contact Amy Willis if you have any questions (317-291-0308). Thank you!
Masking Update
Marion County is currently in BLUE status. Masks are now optional in the building. Mask will still be required for congregational singing. As a congregation, we have followed the guidance of the state and the CDC throughout the pandemic, and strive to do our best now as well.
Please keep in mind that some folks still may prefer to wear their mask and have a little more personal space. If you are sick, (even just a case of sniffles), please remain home. (We want to keep this good thing going!)
Additionally, we will continue to Livestream both our services.
If you have any concerns regarding this change, contact Pastor Beth directly or contact one of our ruling elders.
