Devotions for Lent
We are so pleased to be utilizing the devotional, “Bless the Lent we Actually Have 40 Days to Reflect, Pray, and Bless Our Imperfect Lives.” Written and edited by Kate Bowlen, Jessica Richie, Brenda Thompson, and Harriet Putman. Kate and Jessica were co-authors of last year’s Lenten Study Book “Good Enough”. Each week we will be focusing on a concept from the devotional, and we invite you to use it as a daily devotional, with the exception of Sundays (this is traditionally how the “40 days of Lent” are calculated. Devotionals are available for pick up on the table outside the sanctuary.
Palm Sunday - April 2
Worship on Palm Sunday is at 10 am - Intergenerational and Adult Church School at 11 am. Celebration of Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem. We will also dedicate the One Great Hour of Sharing offering on this day.
Easter Flower Orders
The Chancel Guild is now taking orders for Easter flowers. We will not have lilies this year due to our interim pastor’s allergy to them; however, we will be obtaining daffodils and tulips which we hope will be in bloom for Easter Sunday. The cost is $10.00 per plant, and orders need to be submitted by April 2. Please submit payment at the time of your order and mark “Easter Flowers” on your envelope or check.
Maundy Thursday - April 6 - 7 pm
This service will include music, scripture, and the celebration of the Lord’s Supper. Worshippers will have an opportunity to walk the Protestant Stations of the Cross.
The Stations of the Cross or the Way of the Cross, also known as the Way of Sorrows or the Via Crucis, refers to a series of images depicting Jesus Christ on the day of his crucifixion and accompanying scripture and prayers. The stations grew out of imitations of the Via Dolorosa in Jerusalem, which is a traditional processional route symbolizing the actual path Jesus walked to Mount Calvary. The objective of the stations is to help the Christian faithful to make a spiritual pilgrimage through contemplation of the Passion Story of Christ. It’s one of the most popular devotions and the stations can be found in many Western Christian churches including Anglican, Lutheran, Methodist, and Roman Catholic.
Good Friday - April 7 - 7 pm
Speedway Baptist Church (2986 Moller Rd, Speedway, IN 46224) is hosting the community Good Friday Service. We will worship with the Speedway/Westside Community Churches, as the service is led by area ministers and lay leaders in our community.
Easter Festival - April 8 - 9 am
Spring is almost here and that means it is time to invite your family and friends for a morning of games, crafts, breakfast, and an interactive walk-through Holy Week for children in our church and community.
Please volunteer to help by signing up on the bulletin board outside the office. We also need empty, clean egg cartons, CANDY, and items for breakfast. If you have any questions, please see Lisa Crismore. Thanks for making this outreach event to our community a success!

Please Protect Your Neighbor
As we monitor the Covid virus, we see an increase in cases in our area and flu and RSV. Just a reminder that if you are not feeling well, even if you think it is something as simple as a cold, PLEASE STAY HOME and worship via Facebook. As usual, masks and hand sanitizer are available in several locations at the church. Let's keep everyone safe and healthy.
