Lenten Devotionals Available
Lent began on March 2. Our Lenten theme this year is Good Enough. We are so pleased to be utilizing the devotional book, Good Enough: 40’ish Devotionals for a Life of Imperfection, as the basis for our worship this Lent. Each week we will be focusing on a concept from the book, and we invite you to use it as a daily devotional, with the exception of Sundays (this is traditionally how the “40 days of Lent” are calculated… and at some point, you’ll find the “40’ish-ness” where there is one more, which makes it perfectly imperfect). Books are available for purchase at Amazon.com
Daylight Savings Time
Daylight Savings Time begins on Sunday, March 13. So, when you go to bed on March 12, be sure to set your clock AHEAD one hour. That way you won’t be arriving for church while the rest of us are leaving!
Flowers in 2022
One of the ways that you can contribute to our worship experience each Sunday is by placing flowers in worship. There is a calendar outside the church office where you can sign-up. Please feel free to contact Amy Willis if you have any questions (317-291-0308). Thank you!
2022 Per Capita
Did you know that we as a church pay to the larger church (presbytery, synod, and general assembly) a per capita mission payment that is based on our membership each year? This is part of our annual budget each year and is a commitment we fulfill as a connectional church. For 2022, that amount per member is $42.29, or approximately $7,700 for the year. Would you consider making a contribution above and beyond your normal giving to help offset this? Mark your check “per capita”, and thank you for your generosity! If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Cindy Hiday (317-388-1280: ).
Masking Update
Marion County is currently in BLUE status. Masks are now optional in the building. Mask will still be required for congregational singing.
If you have any concerns regarding this change, contact Pastor Beth directly or contact one of our ruling elders. -Pastor Beth
Church School Update
Patty McKinnon will resume her Adult Church School Class on March 6.
The Education Team has made the decision to cancel the children and youth church school classes. This year we will have prepared “Church School Take Home” boxes. The lessons will go through Lent and Easter for eight weeks. Parents will be asked to give feedback to see if these are helpful. If you are a parent, please contact us if your family would like to receive one of these boxes.
Blessings,
Pastor Beth
