Community Thanksgiving

We will celebrate Thanksgiving as the ecumenical family of faith, gathering with churches throughout the Speedway community on Sunday, November 20, at 7 pm at St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church (6118 Crawfordsville Road).  Mark your calendars and plan on celebrating in worship God’s goodness!

Circle City Ringers

Save the date and time, Sunday, December 18th at 3:30 pm.  The Presbyterian Women have some exciting news.  One, The Circle City Bell Ringers will be returning to entertain us at 3:30 pm in the sanctuary, and two, for the first time since 2019, Harry Greene will be catering his delicious meal following the program.  Dinner is expected to be served around 5:00 pm.

A Freewill Offering will be taken up for the Circle City Bell Ringers during their performance.

Tickets for the banquet will be $12.00 per person and will go on sale November 20 – December 11 in the hallway after service or you may phone the church office for reservations. Checks should be made out to: PWJKC for the banquet.  Please plan to attend the performance and the dinner and remember to invite your friends. The afternoon is open to the public.  Reservations are required for the dinner.  A perfect event for the Christmas season.

The Session has called a Congregational Meeting for November 20 immediately following worship. This meeting is called for the election of Officers and changes in the by-laws.

Hanging of the Greens

The Worship Team and Chancel Guild invite everyone in the church to join us in decorating the church for Advent and Christmas. You are invited to come on Saturday, November 26, for the Hanging of the Greens.  We will gather at 9am for a scrumptious breakfast, then work throughout the morning placing decorations around the church. We hope you will join us for this great opportunity for fellowship. Thanks for your willingness to assist in making the church look beautiful for this Christmas season.

Christmas Program

Christmas is coming! The annual Christmas play is on December 4 at 6:30 pm and will be a “Paper Bag Celebration!” Of course there will be some Christmas carols to get us in the holiday spirit! More exciting things to come, but for now we are asking you to save your paper grocery bags (you may ask for extra at the store). Although we can use plastic as well. Mark your calendars as we hope to see you there.

Poinsettias & Wreaths - Due December 18

We will have eight live wreaths to decorate the entrances to the church, the sanctuary, and the fellowship hall this Advent and Christmas.  If you would like to donate one or more of these, they are $14 each. Christmas poinsettias may also be ordered now, and they are $10 a plant.    Please make your check out to the church, mark it “Wreaths & Poinsettias”, who you wish it to be in honor or memory of, and turn it in to the church office.  Thank you!

Gift Card Donations Needed

The PW will be raffling off a gift card and candy basket on Dec. 18th at the Christmas Banquet on December 18th.  We need gift cards.  If you would like to donate gift cards, please give them to Sandy Jordan or anyone on the PWCT.  We would appreciate receiving your donation by November 27th, 2022.

Please Protect Your Neighbor

Friends,

As we monitor the Covid virus, we see an increase in cases in our area. Just a reminder that if you are not feeling well, even if you think it is something as simple as a cold, PLEASE STAY HOME and worship via Facebook. As usual, masks and hand sanitizer are available at the church. Let's keep everyone safe and healthy.
