Blue Christmas Service - December 14 - 6:30 pm

For many, the holiday season is not an especially happy time, as it brings back memories of loved ones no longer here.  While Christmas is often filled with joy, it also can be filled with pain, sadness, and grief.  This year, we will come together again in a time of worship to acknowledge those feelings in a “Blue Christmas Service” on December 14.  This will be a service of scripture, music, and prayer.  We hope you will feel led to come and share in this time of worship, as we offer all of who we are to God in this time of preparation for the Christ Child.

The Storehouse Special Thanksgiving Request

It is not too late to help support The Storehouse to prepare for the Thanksgiving holiday food distribution. This year they are requesting a financial donation. If you wish to help them out with their holiday request your check should be written payable to the Church and allocate the funds to The Storehouse. This is a special request for the Thanksgiving holiday only. We will still have Food on the First and your food donations are greatly appreciated. If you have any questions please see any member of the Mission Team, Dan Bourne, Tim Graves, Carol McKeown, or Bev Ray.

New Beginnings - Veterans Day Collection

In honor of our veterans, the Mission Team invites everyone to make a financial donation to the New Beginnings Fund.  Our veterans have given so much to our country, and this is an opportunity we have to thank them by helping the least fortunate in our midst.  As you can see every month, we are assisting many people in our community with food, clothing, transportation, and other pressing needs.  Mark your donation “New Beginnings” and thank you for your continued, generous support which gives hope and peace to so many in our community.

Afghan Family Resettlement - Aiding Team Rubicon Through Franciscan Health

Team Rubicon is a voluntary team made up of military personnel, active and veterans, who served in Afghanistan and have deep personal feelings for the Afghan allies who worked shoulder to shoulder with them overseas. Their needs are great and Franciscan Health has partnered with Team Rubicon to not only provide medical services but also act as a collection center for donations of items such as clothing, hygiene items, child-specific items, etc. A list of requested items has been posted on the Mission bulletin board in the hallway outside the Sanctuary. Items can be brought to the Church office and Dr. Sue Hartman has volunteered to take them to Franciscan Health’s collection site. If you prefer to make a monetary donation you can do so at; trusa.co/resettlement, your donation will go directly to Team Rubicon. If you have any questions, please see any member of the Mission Team.

Blessings,
Pastor Beth
