It's a Wonder-Full Life

The season of stewardship is upon us. This year you are invited to reflect on gratitude and share pictures that depict the rich and abundant beauty of creation and the “treasures” of people in our lives. Those things represent a “Wonder-full” life. Please share those pictures by sending them to  .  We will share them during our worship time together during this month of gratitude.

The Storehouse Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is coming and The Storehouse is starting to prepare for one of its busiest holiday distributions. The number of families needing food is already rising and The Storehouse needs funds in order to purchase turkey breasts/hams needed to provide a proper holiday meal to those in need. If you would like to help The Storehouse meet its goal, please pick up an envelope from the table in the main hallway beginning October 2. Make your check payable to JKPC and in the memo line write ‘Storehouse Turkeys/Hams’. We will make sure The Storehouse receives your donations in plenty of time to be able to make their holiday purchases. If you have any questions, please see anyone on the Mission Team.
Thank you.

In Honor and Memory of Don Charboneau Jr.

Mark Charboneau answered the need of The Storehouse for freezers which Beth announced last Sunday in worship. He donated five chest freezers and has given them in memory and honor of his father, Don Charboneau, Jr.

GENEROSITY LUNCHEON - 11 AM

Let's have a celebration of all that God has bestowed on us this past year. And then let us look forward to what God is calling us to do and be in the year to come.

Trick or Treat

WOW! How can it be fall already?!? On Halloween night, we will join Iglesia Hermandad Cristiana and Westview Christian Church for a time to provide the children and their parents a safe, warm place to Trick-or-Treat. We will be back in person! They are located at 5925 W. 34th Street. The churches (all in one building) have a great set-up for the families to enter on the ground floor of the building, go up the stairs, down the hall, and then downstairs to a separate exit. Good News for us, they decorate the night before the holiday.

What will we have to do to partner with them? Please bring your candy by next Sunday, October 30.

Prime Timers - November 2

The Prime Timers will gather for a Thanksgiving meal on Tuesday, November 2 at 12pm at the church. You are invited to bring a salad, side dish, or dessert. Jim and Bonnie Graves will provide the turkey, stuffing and homemade noodles. Jeff Roberts will be sharing about his Honor Flight experience. Honor Flight is a program that honors military veterans, giving them a trip to Washington DC to visit all the memorials with a personal escort and a chance to meet other veterans, who have faithfully served. Please sign-up and let us know what you plan to bring and let us know you plan to attend or you can call the office with the information (317-291-0308). Everyone is welcome to attend!

African Food and Dessert Auction

November 6 at 11:15am - Galleh Thoronka & Mamudu Bah will be preparing their native African food to thank our congregation for their support. They promise not to make it spicy or hot although there will be hot sauce available. Everyone is invited to attend the luncheon in Fellowship Hall. We are also asking our members who are good cooks to make a special dessert which will be auctioned off during the meal. All proceeds will go to subsidize the support grant for Galleh and Mamudu. This is funding their living expenses before receiving their work permit in November and establishing a job. Please sign-up on the bulletin board so we can plan appropriately.

Look for the Tree

The Mission Team will erect the Hat & Mitten Tree soon.  We will be collecting your donations of hats, mittens, gloves, scarves and warm socks and delivering them to needy children with the help of our neighborhood schools.  We will accept your donations through November 6, 2022. and deliver them to the schools soon afterward.   Please help our neighborhood kiddos stay warm by showing them our love.  Thank You!

Circle City Ringers

December 18, 2022 - Mark your calendars and be ready to enjoy a day of Christmas cheer like we haven't experienced in a long time.  The Circle City Bell Ringers will perform at 3:00 PM and at 5:00 PM, we will sit down to a delicious dinner, catered by the Greens!  Tickets will be on sale for the dinner starting soon.  More about that later.  The PW will be raffling off a gift card and candy basket on Dec. 18th also.  If you would care to donate gift cards towards the basket, please give them to Sandy Jordan or anyone on the PWCT.  Please try and have your cards to the PW by Nov. 27th.  Thank you so much!
